Mandatory Documentation for Shipping in India
To ensure a smooth delivery process across India, it's important to submit the right documents. For most parcels, especially commercial shipments, compliance with GST regulations and E-Way Bill requirements is essential.
Note: Make sure these documents are correctly filled to avoid delays, rejections, or penalties.
Banned and Restricted Items – What You Cannot Send
For safety, security, and legal compliance, certain items are strictly prohibited from being shipped via courier in India. Sending any of these may result in legal action or confiscation.
- ❌ Flammable items (gasoline, fireworks, matchsticks)
- ❌ Hazardous chemicals, acids, or toxic substances
- ❌ Currency, precious metals, or valuable stones
- ❌ Alcohol, tobacco, or narcotic substances
- ❌ Arms, ammunition, or sharp weapons
- ❌ Live animals or perishable food without proper packaging
- ❌ Counterfeit goods or pirated materials
- ❌ Any items prohibited under Indian law
Volumetric Weight – Know How Your Parcel is Charged
Courier pricing isn't just based on the physical weight. If your package takes up more space than its actual weight justifies, it's charged based on volumetric weight.

Note: If volumetric weight > actual weight, you will be billed on volumetric weight.
Example: A soft toy weighing 1 kg in a 50×40×30 cm box = (50×40×30)÷5000 = 12 kg — you'll be billed for 12 kg!
